MG Car Club, Denmark •  © 2005 • Email: Webmaster
   Background

In 1973 an enthusiastic man from Jutland, Jørgen H. Poulsen thought there was a need for a new MG Club covering the western part of Denmark.

At that time there was only one club on Zealand, MG Car Club Danish Centre, and Jørgen Poulsen had observed several MG Cars in Jutland.

On Sunday the 14th of October it was announced in the newspaper "Jyllands Posten" that all MG owners were invited to the first meeting in the heart of Jutland at Himmelbjerget. The first meeting was an immediate success, and with 22 vehicles the MG Car Club Danish Centre West was a reality.

Right after that the club joined the MG Car Club GB.

Today the club has grown to more than 875 members, all sharing the same enthusiasm about the MG cars.

At the annual general assemby meeting, spring 2002, it was decided to change the name to MG Car Club, Denmark.

The purpose of the club is to promote and maintain the interest in MG cars, through club races, family arrangements, technical cooperation etc., thus trying to uphold an important part of English motor history by the use of the cars and preserving the history and originality of the cars.
